What you need to know about Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy also known as essential oil therapy is a process where essential oils are extracted from flowers, herbs and different parts of the tree, such as the leaves, fruit, roots and bark, to create a compound for therapeutic purposes. A single bottle is made up of multiple plants, which undergo a steaming and pressing process that doesn’t affect the original plant properties – no chemicals are used. 

The essential oil grades 

Not all essential oils are created equal. If you use them for their properties make sure you buy a higher grade and quality of the oil. 

Grade A 

Therapeutic quality essential oils. Made using only high-quality organic plants and flowers, that is then distilled at the correct temperatures. These pure oils are great for consuming for health benefits, diffusing, inhaling, and more. This top grade is safe to mix with carrier oils and apply to your skin and more. 

Grade B 

Food grade. This grade is not pure and can contain synthetics from carrier oils to pesticides.  

Grade C 

Perfume style oils. Like grade B, these oils may contain synthetics, carrier oils, and other items. However, they are not to be ingested, instead they are used just for the fragrance aspect. You will find this in body washes, shampoos and more.
